About
I am currently working towards completing my PhD at the Research Institute of Irish and Scottish Studies at the University of Aberdeen.
My thesis examines artistic responses to the industrial school system and Magdalene laundries in Ireland and aims to chart the shifting public discourse regarding these institutions by examining the ways in which individual texts have opened and formed a dialogue that has both led and reflected changing attitudes towards the Magdalene laundries and the industrial schools as well as the children and women who had been incarcerated within them.
